Our Quality Control department is certified and managed under the strict guidelines of ISO9001:2008 + AS9100C. This Registration covers the Quality Management System for the manufacture, resell and distribution of metal and composite parts for aerospace applications. The privilege of earning this registration is not just the system at work; it is the attitude of its employees to live within the values the ISO system presents.

In order to meet the tight tolerances of today’s manufacturing environment, Quality Control has to monitor every process every step of the way. Our QC department completes the initial review of the drawings and specifications, in process, final and first article inspections, finalized by an audit of all customer required documentation.

In our 600 square foot climate controlled Quality lab, our inspectors are surrounded by simple and complex measuring equipment which includes:
  • CCP Optical Comparator with 16” screen, Edge Scan & Image Capture
  • Sheffield Discovery II Direct Computer Control (DCC) Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) complete with upgraded Measure Max & CMM Manager Software Brown & Sharpe Reflex 454 CMM
  • All necessary hand-held measuring devices with scheduled instrument inspections, traceable to National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST)
  • 6’L x 4’W Certified Marble Surface plate
  • FaroArm Platinum portable CMM equipped with laser scanning head
An Optical Comparator is a device that applies the principles of optics to the inspection of manufactured parts. In a comparator, the magnified silhouette of a part is projected upon the screen, and the dimensions and geometry of the part are measured against prescribed reference points.

A Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) is also a device used in manufacturing and assembly processes to test a part or assembly against the design intent. By precisely recording the X, Y, and Z coordinates of the target, points are generated which can then be analyzed via regression algorithms for the construction of features. These points are collected by using a probe that is positioned manually by an operator or automatically via Direct Computer Control (DCC). DCC CMMs can be programmed to repeatedly measure identical parts, thus a CMM is a specialized form of industrial robot.

The FaroArm is used to perform inspections, dimensional checks, alignments, CAD-to-part analysis, reverse engineering, rapid prototyping, 3D modeling and many more applications. The FaroArm – which includes the Platinum FaroArm provides versatility, reliability, and accuracy up to .0006”. Unmatched features and benefits have made the FaroArm the world’s best portable measurement arm.
